To all Scout Leaders:
We have been asked to pass this along to you as you prepare to come
to camp. As we are all aware the H1N1 (Swine Flu) is a major concern
to everyone.
Our Camp Director along with the Camp Physician and Health Officer
ask that you review health forms and current health of those coming
to camp. They ask that anyone with flu like symptoms, elevated temps
- do not attend.
Persons having had ILI (influenza-like illness) in the past 7 days
prior to camp – should not attend camp for 7 days after their
symptoms began or until they have been symptom free for 24 hours,
whichever is longer. If anyone has been exposed to someone with the
ILI (influenza-like illness), they may attend camp, but it should be
reported to the Camp Director/Health Officer and they should be
closely monitored.
At this time, the CDC recommends the primary means to reduce spread
of influenza in camp focus on early detection. When ill, good cough
and hygiene etiquette is a MUST.
Hand washing should be done with running water and liquid hand soap
– if this is not available alcohol-based hand sanitizers may be used
if hands are not visibly soiled.
If everyone would adhere to these rules we should have a Great
Camping Week!
