The Friends of Scouting campaign makes up almost 25% of our Winnebago Council's annual budget. These monies are vital to deliver the program to our Scouts.

Purpose of the Scouts

The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth.

Outcomes

Scouting teaches skills that prepare young people for a lifetime of ethical leadership.

What Should I Give?

You can spread your pledge over the year with the convenient pledge card. Your contribution of less than 50 cents a day amounts to a tax deductible donation of $180 and will support one youth in the Scouting program for one year. Can you support the cost of one, two or more youth? Contributions of any amount are welcome and appreciated. The dollars that you give to Scouting are multiplied in effectiveness because of the high degree of volunteer involvement. If you prefer, your pledge can be paid in monthly, quarterly or semi-annual installment.

Endowments

Encouraging gifts to the Winnebago Council endowment fund is one of our highest priorities. It is one of the best ways to ensure that the council can continue to offer the outstanding programs we now have and also grow to meet the needs of our youth and communities.

To recognize such gifts, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) offers three national awards for donors. National recognition items are presented by the Winnebago Council to those donors who qualify for these awards:
