Consider a Jamboree Staff position - without qualified volunteers
like YOU we cannot make the National Jamboree a success!
Jamboree staff positions are open to adult men and women who meet
required qualifications. Adult staff members must be registered
members of the Boy Scouts of America and must be 21 years old by the
time the Jamboree starts. Youth staff members will need to be
between 16 and 21 years of age and be registered members of the Boy
Scouts of America by the time Jamboree starts.
Jamboree staff provides all the support and program services needed for an outstanding event. Volunteer staff operates everything from bus and telephone systems to a hospital and first-aid stations, police and fire departments, post offices, banks, food warehouses, a daily newspaper, and retail stores (trading posts).
Staff also provides the support for all the program and activity
areas (like archery, rifle shooting, zip lines, biking, scuba
diving) arena shows, and merit badge midway.
Jamboree staff will provide service in the following areas:
|
Relationships
International
Media/Communications
Special Events
Exhibits and Displays
Outback
Youth Programs
City Services
|
Public Safety
Physical Arrangements
Special Food Service
Subcamp Staff
Regional Action Centers

National BSA will have you fill out a national staff application
on-line at
www.bsajamboree.org, which is then forwarded to the Winnebago
Council office for approval by the Winnebago Council. Our Council
then sends it on to National.
From that point on, you will work with National BSA and your staff
area on all the details you will need to be a staff member at the
Jamboree. The Winnebago Council staff will not be able to help you
with this. National will give you contact information that you can
call with questions.
Most Jamboree staff positions have you coming out before the
Jamboree starts for the boys. You will set up your area and staff it
during the Jamboree. You will have time off from your staff area to
tour the Jamboree and visit your sons.
As of Spring 2009, most directors of the various staffing areas have
been chosen by National and they are busy filling their staffs. Many
people in the Council have already received their staff assignments;
others have not received any information. Be patient. These are
volunteers who are working to get their areas filled and sometimes
it takes a bit of time to contact people and get their responses.
