The Winnebago Scout Reservation boasts several campsite and sleeping cabins that are available year-round. Norris and Albrecht cabins are beautiful hardwood floored, insulated cabins available for small and large group camping. They each will comfortably sleep up to 24 campers. Wood burning stoves provide ample heat in the winter months, and propane burners are available for cooking indoors. Both of these cabins are handicap accessible.
There are other cabins available for overnight camping as well. Aiaouez (Iowa), Roosevelt and the activity building are all available for overnight or weekend usage. Aiaouez cabing is a cozy wood-burning stove heated cabin set up for twelve campers. The activity building is a multi-use building that will sleep 18 people comfortably. Heated with a pot-bellied stove, this building is set up if you are looking for an arts and crafts weekend. Roosevelt cabin is a smaller cottage that will sleep four campers and is heated with an electric furnace. This is a good supplemental cabin for your larger diverse groups.
Winnebago Scout Reservation also has themed camping areas. Staudt Hollow is a collection of fine log cabins that contain built-in bunk beds, a front porch and electric lights. These are available for rent year-round with electric heat available.
Other seasonal themed campsites include the Double H Ranch, the
Gold Rush Town, The Calvery Fort, The Indian Village and the
Riverside Shire (aka the Hobbit homes). The Ranch has bunk houses
that sleep eight campers in bunk beds. The Riverside Shire is a
unique camping experience. Underground structures boasting hand made
rustic log bunk beds. Beautiful views of the Shell
Rock River can bee seen from both of these campsites. The other
campsites are always available off season for tent camping, but are
used especially during summer resident camp seasons. Each of the
themed campsites also include permanent picnic shelters as well.
